Chick-fil-A is at the top of plenty of people’s “favorite restaurants” lists, but sometimes, you just want to enjoy delicious food without waiting in that long drive-thru line. Now, with these copycat recipes, you can! Whether you head to Chick-fil-A for the nuggets, chicken sandwiches, or coleslaw, this list has you covered. Because Chick-fil-A has so many great menu items, it was a little hard for me to narrow my list down to just 10, so I went with the all-time most popular options. And don’t worry; I didn’t stick exclusively to the chicken. After all, Chick-fil-A has plenty of excellent sides and desserts, as well.
Copycat Chick-fil-A Sandwich and More!
1. Chick-fil-A Chicken Tortilla Soup
If you’ve been limiting yourself to Chick-fil-A’s nuggets and chicken sandwiches, you’re missing an entire side of the menu that’s just incredible. For example, the restaurant’s chicken tortilla soup is one of the best things you can put into your mouth on a cold fall or winter’s day. Made with shredded chicken, heavy cream, black and navy beans, onions, corn, and more, the soup is rich, chunky, and full of spices and seasonings that’ll have you begging for more.
2. Chick-fil-A Carrot Raisin Salad
I love this copycat recipe for carrot raisin salad because not only does it taste phenomenal, but it’s also so unbelievably easy to make. All you’ll need are seven ingredients – carrots, pineapple chunks, raisins, mayo, sugar (or honey), salt, and lemon juice – and about 10 minutes to whip it up. It has a savory, bold flavor with just a hint of tropical sweetness from the raisins and pineapple chunks. It also has a wonderfully smooth consistency that even the pickiest eaters will enjoy.
3. Copycat Chick-fil-A Sauce
I’ve known people who don’t even like Chick-fil-A who love Chick-fil-A sauce, and if that’s not a testament to how delicious it is, then nothing ever could be. Ironically, even though the sauce is one of the things people seem to love most from Chick-fil-A, it’s also one of the easiest to make. Anyone could pull this sauce together. Simply whisk a quarter cup of mayo with a tablespoon each of honey and your favorite bbq sauce, and a teaspoon of mustard. It takes 5 minutes, tops. Serve it with fries, chicken nuggets, or whatever else you enjoy dipping into it.
4. Copycat Chick-fil-A Chicken Nuggets
It’s difficult to recreate the sheer amazingness that is Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets. With this recipe, though, you can come pretty darned close. The secret ingredient – a quarter cup of pickle juice – may surprise you, but I promise you, without it, you’ll never get as close to the tastiness of the real thing. Aside from the pickle juice, the other ingredients are pretty standard: chicken breasts, buttermilk, egg, flour, sugar, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and oil. If you can cut the chicken into small pieces and fry it, you should be able to make these nuggets without too much trouble. Just don’t forego the pickle juice; trust me. It makes all the difference.
5. Chick-fil-A Coleslaw
Coleslaw is pretty much one of those sides that anyone can make, but why make regular, bland coleslaw when you can make copycat Chick-fil-A coleslaw instead? The ingredients are pretty similar to any coleslaw, but it takes only 5 minutes to pull together, and it has a sweet, tangy taste and a silky consistency that’s hard to beat. It needs to chill for at least a couple of hours before serving it, though, so be sure to plan accordingly.
6. Chick-fil-A Lemonade
Chick-fil-A doesn’t just have it going on when it comes to the food. The drinks are also on-point, particularly their delightfully sweet lemonade with just the perfect amount of tartness. Luckily, if that’s your favorite drink from Chick-fil-A, making your own at home isn’t difficult. In fact, you can make it with only three ingredients in 10 minutes or less. All you’ll need are five cups of water, a cup of sugar, and freshly squeezed juice from seven or eight lemons. Pour, mix it, and chill for an hour. Then enjoy the most delicious summer drink there is.
7. Chick-fil-A Waffle Fries
I agonized over this recipe for years. There is nothing quite like Chick-fil-A’s waffle fries, but no matter how hard I tried, I was never able to make them. They were always too thick or too soggy or too… something. They just never were quite right. I’d finally given up on trying to make them when I discovered this simple, three-ingredient recipe. The trick is using a mandolin slicer and leaving the skin on the potato. Now, I can make the perfect batch of waffle fries every time. My only recommendation is not to be shy with the sea salt. There’s nothing tastier than perfectly salty fries, and I have to go a little heavier than ⅛ teaspoon to get mine just right.
8. Chick-fil-A Market Salad
If you’re looking for something delicious that’s both sweet and savory, light and filling, and crunchy and soft, look no further than this copycat market salad. It has all your favorite sweet and savory favorites – chicken, peppers, spices, strawberries, blueberries, and apples – along with walnuts, bleu cheese, and more. The zesty apple cider vinaigrette also gives it a tangy kick that you won’t want to miss.
9. Chick-fil-A Crispy Chicken Sandwich
Don’t worry! I wasn’t going to wrap up a Chick-fil-A recipes list without including at least one recipe for the restaurant’s famous crispy chicken sandwich. For it, most of the work goes into the flour, which you’ll want to season just right to get that phenomenal, full-bodied taste. For the flour alone, you’ll need sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, celery salt, rosemary, dill weed, basil, sage, thyme, and more. Luckily, once you get the flour mixture right, everything else is easy. If you love chicken sandwiches, this is one recipe you’ll want in your repertoire.
10. Chick-fil-A Cookies
These warm cookies are gooey, rich, and full of big chunks of chocolatey goodness. They have a sweet, buttery taste and are so soft that they nearly fall apart in your hands. They’ll definitely start to melt once they hit your tongue. Best of all, you can make almost two dozen of them in less than 30 minutes, meaning you’ll have plenty for any occasion.
